Tomato poppers?

I’m so excited!  It’s time to harvest Texas Cherry and Rainbow Bell Tomatoes!!  I also have a few recipes to share with you using these two tomatoes.  I DO have to tell you some of the little tomatoes don’t make it to my harvest basket.  I just ‘pop’ them into my mouth (wash them first) right after picking them.  they are that delicious.

All the caring for our tomatoes really pays off.  I was so tempted to pick the tomatoes and pop into my mouth but stopped to rinse off.  Since we are using worm castings, which are full of micro organisms, and spraying with Liquid Fish Blend, it’s always best to rinse off the tomatoes before eating.

But once you pop one in your mouth, the sweetness fills your mouth and you just know that all your hard work has paid off.  You have the sweetest, juiciest tomatoes ever.

It’s so exciting to watch the tomatoes ripen and the anticipation is such a killer.  I love the 18 weeks that we have shared our growing experience and there is more to come with recipes and the remainder of the tomatoes that are ripening each day.

Here is the video for this week and you can see below how the tomatoes are growing.

Keep the drip irrigation going, pinch of any bad leaves and sucker branches, and tell your tomato plants how proud you are of them!  You’re not crazy!  It just adds to the fun!
